Protect your business against digital risks.

A cyber-attack can expose customer data, lock your systems, stop revenue and damage years of trust. Imana assesses your risks, explains the options and helps you compare cyber insurance quotations from trusted insurers in Kenya, with the right limits, extensions and deductibles.

/ 03

What affects the premium?

Pricing factors

There is no standard price. Insurers look at:

  • Industry, turnover and number of users
  • Type and volume of data held
  • Security controls, backups and staff training
  • Past incidents, chosen limit and deductible

Compare beyond price

The cheapest policy is not always the strongest. Check:

  • Limits and sub-limits
  • Exclusions and waiting periods
  • Incident-response services included

What we need for a quote

  • Business name and KRA PIN
  • Nature of business and turnover
  • Number of employees
  • Type and volume of data held
  • Online platforms and payment systems
  • Security and backup controls
  • Previous incidents or losses

Frequently asked questions

Is cyber insurance mandatory in Kenya?

Not generally, but a client, lender, investor or contract may require it. Data-protection obligations apply either way.

Does it cover ransomware?

It may cover defined response, restoration, interruption or extortion costs, subject to the insurer’s terms, security requirements, consent procedures and applicable law.

Can an SME buy cyber insurance?

Yes. Cover is based on your operations, turnover, data held, security controls and preferred limit.

Does it cover phishing or funds-transfer fraud?

Not automatically. These usually need a social-engineering or cybercrime extension with its own sub-limit and deductible.

Does submitting the form mean I am insured?

No. Cover begins only after the insurer accepts the risk, all requirements are met, payment is completed and confirmation is issued.
